Is It Time To Update Your Company Website?

Web users statistically make quick decisions about your company based upon your website design and overall presentation. It’s very important to put your best foot forward from the start. A website can look old or “dated”. The ‘Mullet’ was considered ‘cool’ back in ‘the day’ - but just like most of us have updated our hairstyle – it is important to update your online presence.

Companies want to work with other successful companies and your website should be a reflection of such. This does NOT mean looking back on your accomplishments and stating how great you are. This means presenting users with your companies vision for ongoing success. Do it right and your web users will be compelled to come along for the ride.

A website that is not updated on a regular basis becomes stale and forgotten. Do you read an issue of your favorite magazine more than 1 or 2 times? Probably not, so why would a visitor become a ‘repeat visitor’ if there is nothing new to do or read? Don’t become the forgotten leftovers in the back of the fridge. Yuck! Prepare something new for your web guests regularly.

Take advantage of the newest web-based technologies, such as adding a more robust Content Management system, developing custom web-software applications and implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques and management (SEM).

If your company’s overall website presentation and technology is approaching its third birthday (or more), it is time to ask the question “Is it time for an update?” The web world spins unbelievably fast. New technologies, techniques, and design trends present themselves daily. Three years may not seem long but in the web world it can be a lifetime.
